Independent comparisons for the money decisions behind a business.
Unfiltered Choice helps U.S. founders and small-business owners choose the banking, payments, and payroll their company runs on — with a published methodology and zero pay-to-rank placements.
The highest-stakes business decisions have the worst information online
Choosing a business bank, payment processor, or payroll provider is a decision that quietly bills your company every month for years. It should be the easiest thing in the world to compare — instead it's one of the hardest.
The problem
Search "best business checking account" or "best payroll software" and most results are advertising in an editorial costume: a vendor buys the top slot, a writer who never opened an account ranks it first, and you're left assuming rank #1 means best product — not best-funded marketing budget.
Our answer
Unfiltered Choice is the honest layer in that decision — a comparison platform built for the person who has to choose between real options and live with the consequences.
What we are
- A comparison platform that helps you decide, not a generic explainer that just informs.
- Independently rigorous — a published rubric and clear disclosure, not fine print.
- Built for real, specific decisions — for U.S. business owners, not broad personal-finance topics.
What we're not
- A blog chasing whatever topic is trending this week.
- A directory that lists everyone and ranks no one.
- A lead-gen funnel wearing a review site's clothes.
How our comparisons are actually built
A ranking is only worth as much as the method behind it, so we publish ours. Every provider in a category is measured against the same fixed rubric — and the rubric doesn't change to flatter a favorite.
The signals we evaluate
We score total cost of ownership — fees, rates, minimums, and where "free" stops being free. For business banking: account fees, transaction caps, and how the neobank or partner bank actually holds your deposits. For payments & payroll: real per-transaction and per-employee costs, not the headline rate on the pricing page.
How independence works
Some links are affiliate links, disclosed plainly on every page that has them. Whether a company has a commercial relationship with us has no bearing on its score or position, and providers we earn nothing from are eligible for every "best of" list. If a provider is ranked first, it's because the rubric put it there.
How we keep it current
Fees and features change constantly — a processor adjusts its rate, a bank drops a fee, a payroll provider changes tiers. We re-check comparisons on a schedule and every page shows its last-reviewed date. When we get something wrong, we correct the page and show the update rather than quietly editing it.
One vertical at a time, done properly
We'd rather own one category completely than skim ten — so we launch in sequence, building depth and trust in each vertical before expanding. We won't describe a vertical as live until it genuinely is, and this page, our homepage, and our navigation always tell the same story about what's ready today.

Named people, accountable work
Named on every page
Every comparison and guide carries the name of the analyst who wrote it. A recommendation is worth more when you know who stands behind it — anonymous "staff writer" bylines are how low-effort content hides, and we don't publish anything we wouldn't put our own name on.
Published by Claudphic

Advertiser disclosure: some links on this site are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no additional cost to you. This never influences our scores, rankings, or recommendations.
Affiliate-funded
Commissions from providers you choose fund the research — at no extra cost to you.
Never buys placement
Revenue funds the work; it doesn't move a product up a ranking. The rubric decides order.
Equal footing
Unpaid providers compete on exactly the same criteria in every comparison we publish.
We're upfront about this because it's the honest answer to "how does a free comparison site pay its analysts?" — and because hiding the business model is exactly the kind of thing this site was built to push back against.
